More Great Efforts in Response to the Oil Crisis

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Last week, we blogged about the National Wildlife Federation (NWF)—an organization that is working tirelessly to reverse the effects of the disastrous oil spill. As mentioned, one easy way to make a difference is to select NWF as a supported cause in your GlobalMojo browser.

Another option is to head down to the Gulf yourself!

CNN has rounded up several organizations—including NWF—that are actively recruiting volunteers to take part in restoration efforts. These organizations include:

· The Audubon Society

· The Nature Conservancy

· Alabama Coastal Foundation

· Mobile Baykeeper

· Save Our Seabirds

· Greater New Orleans Foundation

· Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana

· United Way

Check out the article for additional organizations, descriptions of their efforts and contact information. It’s a great resource for anybody looking to volunteer on the ground.

Can’t make it down to the Gulf, but still want to help?

Consider adding any one of the organizations listed above as a supported cause in your GlobalMojo browser at http://globalmojo.com/causes/search. Every time you browse the Internet, you will be generating revenue for organizations responding to the crisis.

Happy Birthday Firefox

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Happy Birthday FirefoxAll of us here at GlobalMojo want to wish the Firefox browser a happy 5th birthday! Five years ago Mozilla debuted what would become one of the most popular web browsers and open source experiments—one that would be embraced by over a billion people around the world.

At GlobalMojo we think very highly of the Firefox browser — so much so that we built the GlobalMojo browser using the Firefox browser code architecture. We couldn’t do what we do without relying on Mozilla’s accomplishments that have proven that open-source software is every bit as good—if not better—than the alternatives. Mozilla has led the way in this effort to create and promote the Internet as an open platform, and we applaud them for their accomplishments.

In addition to appreciating their powerful open source software, we are proud to partner with Mozilla because their values so closely mirror our own — both Mozilla and GlobalMojo believe in the power of technology to enrich people’s lives. Using the Firefox browser architecture as a strong foundation, we have added powerful tools that give people a rewarding web browsing experience while generating money for their favorite causes. We’re also proud to feature the Mozilla Foundation as one of our featured causes (Support Technology With Social Value); if you don’t know who to Mojo for, consider supporting the Mozilla Foundation in their ongoing efforts to make the Internet a better experience for all of us!

Happy 5th birthday, Firefox!
